Lusófona: the biggest private university in Portugal

The Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies is the largest private university in Portugal. It first opened its doors in 1987 in Lisbon under the ownership of Grupo Lusófona, a Portuguese private investment group focused on the development of higher education institutions in the countries of Lusófonos. Since then, the Lusófona University has opened semi-autonomous branches in Porto, Luanda, Mindelo.

An interesting fact about the university is that the former Portuguese African colonies pay substantially reduced fees, and the group itself has universities and colleges not only in Portugal but also internationally. Locations include Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique.
